St Magnus House, London

Modernisation of a group of four 10-stop traction lifts in an occupied multi-tenant office building.

The project included replacing the original Express Gearless DC machines with new Ziehl-Abegg gearless machines, control system and door equipment with state of the art equipment.

In order to ensure minimal disruption to the building’s tenants, all equipment transfers through the building were pre-arranged to be completed out of hours.

Marks and Spencer, St. Albans

Target Lifts are proud to have worked with M&S for over two years.

This project involved the modernisation of a single hydraulic goods lift (serving the store’s loading bay, was one of numerous projects we have completed in partnership with M&S as part of their 2019/2020 rolling store refurbishment programme.

Working for RPS (their appointed consultant), we were tasked to find a solution to provide a more reliable lift with a modern control system, reducing health and safety risks for attending engineers as well as an improved user interface system.

Bentinck Street, London

This project’s scope was to replace two 7 year old rucksack design package duplex traction MRL lifts with new conventionally guided, open protocol traction lifts with bespoke design car interiors.

The scope also included the introduction of trimmer steels to allow for the installation of the new guide arrangement. This optimised solution provided the building’s users with a much improved/smoother ride.

Palace House, London

Modernisation of a 6 floor goods passenger lift within an occupied international language college.

The “back to guides” modernisation included replacing all the major lift components and bringing the lift up to the most modern standards where practical. The specification called for a heavy duty door solution so we installed Wittur Pegasus doors on the car and landings including a higher rated stainless steel for the one external entrance.

The project experienced supply chain issues which were handled professionally and the customer and consultant kept up to date at all times.

Ashford International Station, Kent

Modernisation of 7 hydraulic lifts including back of house, car park and terminal lifts with live platforms and terminals.

The drive equipment was upgraded to VVVF types which allowed the client to claim money back as part of a government eco-scheme. With the lifts being essential to the station’s footfall, it was crucial to the customer that the downtime was kept to a minimum. Regular site meetings with all key stakeholders ensured the project was continually progress monitored.

During the six-month programme we achieved 100% rating on all Health and Safety audits conducted by the Principle Contractor. This project has now featured as a major article in the June issue of Elevation magazine highlighting the collaboration between all suppliers, contractors, customers and consultants that contributed to this successful project.

Hawksmoor Restaurant, Covent Garden.

Installation of single bespoke goods/passenger MRL traction lift serving a busy restaurant replacing an unreliable lift maintained by others.

Working for a consultant we were asked us to find a solution to replace an existing lift with a new heavy duty unit fit to cope with a hectic schedule of deliveries and continual staff use. Our proposal consisted of Wittur MRL mechanical package with Pegasus doors combined with a Lester Controls electrical package and other third party open protocol ancillary parts.

Due to the location of the site all deliveries had to be scheduled for pre 10am and with limited storage available the logistics were a challenge. However with careful planning and our dedicated project team the lift was handed over on time and on budget.

The lift has now been added to our service portfolio with a 2 year warranty contract.
