A very high end clinic in London was experiencing very poor reliability and ride quality issues on a triplex installation that was only 4 years old.
Target Lifts were instructed to modernise the 2 x Passenger and 1 x Fire Fighting Lift to provide the client with the confidence that the lifts not only remained reliable but also conformed to current standards. This private health care property had to remain fully functional at all times to ensure the demanding operational side of the business.
It was also important that our field staff had to ensure they could not be seen or heard during the 6 month programme. The clinical finishes had to remain and careful consideration to ensure full protection ‘that was in keeping with the property finishes’ was paramount.
The triplex modernisation consisted of installing and overhauling the following;
Gearless Ziehl-Abegg machines with new adaption bedplates
NEW lift VVVF control panels
Main hoist ropes
Heavy duty VVVF heavy duty Selcom door operators
UCM compliance via new gearless machines
EN81-20 Engineer controls
With regular communication and weekly progress reports detailing works completed, works scheduled, any H&S issues highlighted and any delays to programme, the Target Project Team were able to complete the installation four weeks earlier than originally expected.
The attention to detail, the intrusive testing to ensure optimum ride quality and safety, along with first class management enabled the client to get back to full operations a lot sooner. In fact, during the project, as and when each lift was returned to service, have remained 100% reliable and there has been no report of any breakdowns. The lifts are now all on a 12 month defects liability warranty period and with exceptional maintenance from our experienced Field Service staff, Target Lifts fully expect this to continue.
